The Old Jail Library

The Family Research Center is located downstairs in the Old Jail. Many visitors have commented that our research material is the best they have ever seen in a small library.

We have three internet computers for use by those doing genealogical research. We have a microfiche reader with reels of tape. There is a microfilm reader and numerous reels of tape.

We have numerous Family Histories which are bound in book form. There are copies of records from numerous areas. A good example is the “Alabama Records”. These are records of legal transactions in Alabama. There are file cabinets full of envelopes containing genealogical information. Those files are filed in alphabetical order.

You will find shelves full of books containing genealogical information from areas throughout the United States.
